Take your time

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a steampunk canvas which I recently created.
I am actually calling this my "25 days of lockdown" canvas as it has been over three weeks since we were instructed to stay at home, only venturing out for essentials.

These are indeed very strange, sometimes stressful, times that we are living in
and who would have thought that we would see something like this in our generation,
especially seeing how far medicine has come since our grandparents
endured something similar to this.  Hopefully it won't be long until this is all over
and life can get back to "normal".  One thing that I am so very thankful for
is modern technology and that we can keep in touch with family and friends
on a daily basis, no matter where they are in the world.

I prepared this canvas by first stenciling onto it and then, once dry,
covering everything with white gesso.

I then adhered all of my elements (cogs, gears, clock faces, wings, stones, etc) onto the canvas,
using a very strong glue, and then, once dry and solid on the canvas,
painted everything with white gesso.

Once the gesso was dry, I add some acrylic paints in browns and black,
spraying with water to allow the colour to move on the canvas.

Once I was happy with the paint effect, I painted the tops of the embellishments
with matte and metallic waxes to bring out the details.

I hope that you like this canvas.
Stay strong until next time!
💛

You're my sunshine

Hi everyone.
This is a layout I created using inspiration from the 13 Arts mood board challenge
for April, being inspired by a walk in nature.

I love nature and, at one stage of my life, spent many hours and day hiking in the mountains
and enjoying the gifts that God has given us.

I used a lot of browns and greens for this nature layout.
I first stamped onto the background using an embossing ink pad and then
embossed the stamped images with white embossing powder.

I used flowers, leaves, twigs and moss to create the nature look.

I stenciled onto the layout using a 13Arts glitter ink.

The title was painted with 13Arts Colour Glow paint powder.

Once I had adhered everything to my layout, I painted some
13Arts Colour Glow metallic and watercolour paint powder around the composition
to create depth and to accentuate certain elements.

I hope that you like this layout.
Why not let this moodboard inspire you too.
Until next time!

Do everything in love

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a mixed media heart canvas with you all using the beautiful new Blue Belle
papers from Penelope Dee.

I prepared the canvas with white gesso and then traced half of the heart onto patterned paper,
securing this paper to the one side of the heart.
Stenciling was then done onto the centre are of the heart before adding
"Faded Jeans" Distress Oxide onto the left side of the heart, spraying it with water
and allowing it to move through the stenciling.

The chipboard leaves were heat embossed in blue before adding silver wax.
The word "Life| and the heart were heat embossed in silver.

Lots of cutouts from the paper collection and the heart was complete.

I hope that you liked this project.
Until next time!
