Love

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a canvas with you created for 13arts using the beautiful Bella collection.
I used paper, ephemera, stamps and stencils from the collection as well as the ever
versatile mixed media products from 13arts.

For this canvas, I adhered paper from the collection to the wooden shape and prepared
the background by adding stamping and stenciling.  I added Bronze Shiny Powder to
gel medium and stenciled onto the paper, both around the edges of the canvas
as well as around my composition.

Stamping was added around the edges of the canvas and around the main composition.

I added Golden Calcite Color Glow to leaves and other accents.

Metal embellishments were painted with black gesso before adding the copper accents.

Once the canvas was complete, I added Ruby Color Glow onto the canvas for a
blush of pink here and there.

I hope that you like this canvas.
Until next time!

This way for adventure

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a canvas which I created as Design Team member for the 13 arts
January Challenge.

Starting this month our challenges have moved to Instagram so it will be much easier for you
to post and take part in it. We hope that you will be inspired by our mood board and create
and submit a project of your own.

A winner will receive a giftpack full of 13 arts products and will be our
Guest Designer next month. We will also feature two other best works (as voted by our DT).

Follow 13 arts at
https://www.facebook.com/13artspl/
or on

and for more DT inspiration.

I am sharing my project which I created as inspiration for the challenge - a canvas
using 13arts Rusting Powder and Reagent, Watercolor Powder and Color Glows.

I prepared the background of this project by first painting it with brown and turquoise
watercolor powders and then adhering a piece of clay, made with a texture mould,
onto the centre of the canvas and then painted it with the same watercolors.

The wings and other embellishments were then adhered to the canvas and also
coloured with a combination of the two watercolor powders.

I then added gel medium, with either a paintbrush or a spatula, in areas where I
wanted to add the rusting powder, i.e. around the clocks, the wings, the propeller as well as
around the edges of the canvas.

I then added the rusting powder to the wet gel medium, shaking off the excess.
I then added the Reagent to the rusting powder and watched it work its magic.
I prefer to add a little of the liquid to a spray bottle instead of pouring the liquid on
as you waste a lot of the liquid that way.
By spraying on more of the reagent will produce the different shades of browns
in the rust effect.

I added more of the browns, blues and yellows to the project until I
was happy with the colours.

To create the gold accents, I used gold Shiny Powder added to Gel Medium and rubbed
this on with my finger to accentuate the details.

I hope that you like this project.
Until next time!
