Blooming

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new 13arts project with you all today ...
a canvas created with the papers and embellishments from the Young and Free collection
as well as stickers, chipboard and other 13arts embellishments.

I prepared the background of this canvas by adhering paper from the collection
to my canvas and giving it a good coating of clear gesso.
I then painted the top of the canvas with a combination of 13arts Acrylic Liquid Medium
and Garnet Color Glow, spraying it with water to allow the colour to
flow down the canvas.
I added stenciling as well as stamping to the canvas.

I then mixed Amber Color Glow together with gesso and 13arts Texture Powder
to form a thick paste which I applied around the edges of my canvas
with a spatula, dragging the paste downwards.
Heating and drying this paste produced all of these amazing cracks.

Chipboard elements were painted with diluted Garnet Color Glow and then
lightly heat embossed in gold.

Some of the 13arts products which I used include ...

I hope that you like this project and are inspired to create your own.
Until next time!

Colour your dreams

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a recent double page layout with you all as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee
using the beautiful Azure collection.
I love the soft blues and florals in this collection and felt that it was perfect for this beach
photograph taking a quite a while ago.

I wanted to try and create a shimmer of a reflection in the water so stenciled
onto the layout and then, when the paste was still wet, I added a beautiful glitter
to the paste, leaving it to dry completely.  Once the paste was dry, I used a hard brush
to remove the excess glitter.
I wouldn't recommend this if you are not a glitter fan because, believe me,
in between brushing off the excess glitter and trying to get it all back into the jar,
there was glitter everywhere!!!

There were no other techniques applied to this layout other than use of the
beautiful cutouts and chipboards which make up this collection.

Here are a few closeups of the details ...

I hope that you like this layout and are inspired to create one of your own.
Until next time!

Time flies

Hello everyone.
It is hard to believe that we are already into the month of July and that half of 2021
is behind us, but time does fly and it waits for no-one!  We just have to be sure to
live in the moment, having no regrets, making memories along the journey.

I am sharing a new project for 13arts with you all today ...
a wooden mixed media canvas with a chipboard clock and other grungy elements.

I prepared the background of my canvas by adhering paper from
13arts' Young and Free Collection, covering it with clear gesso and then,
once the gesso was dry, I stamped as well as stenciled onto the paper
with a combination of gel medium and Luster Black Shiny Powder,
dragging the spatula down my canvas as well as
around the edges with my spatula.

I covered the top piece of my clock with gel medium and then, while it was still wet, I sprinkled small microbeads into the medium and dried it completely.  This will create texture to the clock once other mediums are added.

I covered all of the chipboard clock pieces with black gesso and then painted
the top piece with a combination of three 13arts Color Glows
(Tiger's Eye, Andalusite and Smoky Quartz) mixed together with fluid medium.
I also added the brown paint around the edges of my canvas with a paintbrush.

My centrepiece was created by using cut out butterflies from the Young and Free collection
as well as other elements and then covering it with a perspex dome with the sides of the dome
painted with the same brown paint using a sponge.

13arts products used include the following ....

I hope that you like this project and are inspired to create one of your own.
Until next time!

Happiness blooms from within

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a canvas with you all today created as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee
using the beautiful new Azure collection, Penelope Dee's 50th collection since they started 5 years ago.

I prepared the background of this canvas by adhering paper to it, coating it with
clear gesso and then first stenciling with expanding mousse and then, once that was dry,
applying blue crackle paste onto the corners and around the edges,
allowing it to dry completely to bring out the cracks.
I then added diluted a sand coloured paint with a paintbrush onto the paste,
allowing it to seep into the cracks of the paste.

Chipboard elements were painted with a periwinkle blue paint, making sure
that the paint coated the embossed areas of the chipboard and then removed the
excess paint with a wet wipe.
I then lightly painted the open areas with sand paint.

The resin pieces were coated with brown alcohol inks and then lightly rubbed
with brass wax to bring out the details.

I hope that you like this canvas.
Until next time!
