Explore

 Hi everyone.

I am sharing my latest project as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee with you all today.
I used the beautiful new Way-far-er travel papers as well as the ring bound album to create
a travel album for a trip that will hopefully happen once life returns to "normal" again.

I combined the papers, chipboard and embellishments together to create this album.
The front page and the "Adventure" page were painted with black gesso, were inked
with Starlite Black ink and then rubbed around the edges with a turquoise wax.
After adding paper to back of this page, I added Glossy Accents into the letters of the
word "Adventure" and then added gold micro beads into the glue, brushing off the excess
so that the beads were flush with the chipboard.

Papers were adhered to the chipboard on the back and front of the rest of the pages
and then cut around the edges with a craft knife.

Starlite Black ink was added to the chipboard with a dauber so that the ink would penetrate
the cut out areas and then lightly rubbed off the rest so that the chipboard would still
have a natural look.

Here are a few more details of the album ....

I hope that you like this album.
Until next time!

My Sunshine

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a canvas which I created as Design Team member for 13arts and
as inspiration for the March Mood Board Challenge.

I prepared the background of my canvas by adding small micro beads to gel medium
and then applying this paste around the canvas to give texture.
Once this was dry, I covered the canvas with a coat of white gesso and allowed it to
dry completely.
I then added Tourmaline Color Glow with Acrylic Liquid Medium and painted
the top of the canvas, spraying it with water and allowing the colour to flow down
the canvas two-thirds of the way down as well as along the edges of the canvas.
I then added a bit more of the Color Glow to the Liquid Medium to make it darker
and repainted it as the top, lightly spraying it with water to allow it to flow.
I wanted to create an ombre effect so didn't want the darker colour to flow too far down.
Once this was dry, I added Bronze Shiny Powder to gel medium and applied it
lightly around the top and side edges of my canvas.

The resin pieces were painted with white gesso and then, once the gesso was
completely dry, I painted them with a combination of Ruby Color Glow
and Cinnamon Pastel Spray.

The chipboard elements were painted with diluted Bronze Shiny Powder.

I hope that you like this project and feel inspired to create a project
of your own for this challenge.

Forever

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a mixed media album which I created for 13arts for February.

Once I had measured and cut all of my patterned paper, I prepared all of the papers by first
adding a layer of clear gesso and then stenciling here and there with modeling paste.
I then added stamping around the edges and then applied a mixture of gel medium and
Tiger Eye Color Glow around the edges with a spatula.

Once that was dry, I added Old Gold Glitter Ink on the pages with a spatula.
I allowed the ink to dry and then adding black gesso around the edges to
give them definition.

Adding the little Printer's Tray on the front of the album was a really fun part
of the process.  This was a little of box which originally had wooden embellishments in.
I painted it with black gesso, added Color Glow and then, once all the embellishments
were added, I added white gesso.

I also added green splashes of colour throughout the album by adding green and black ink
together to get the exact green that I was looking for to match the papers from the collection.

I will leave you with some of the pages from the album ...

I hope that you like this album.
Until next time!

Dear {heart}

Hi everyone.
I am sharing my new layout created as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee
using the beautiful new collection "Forget me Not".

Before adding any embellishments and my photograph, the background of the layout
was prepared by stenciling with crackle paste and then applying the paste in the area
where my main composition would be.

The resin embellishments were painted with black gesso before adding purple paint
as well as bronze paint and wax.

I added bronze paint to gel medium and applied this as well as purple paint around the edges
of the layout as well as around the composition.
Once this was dry, I added more of the crackle paste to soften the colours.

I hope that you like this layout.
Until next time!

Love

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a canvas with you created for 13arts using the beautiful Bella collection.
I used paper, ephemera, stamps and stencils from the collection as well as the ever
versatile mixed media products from 13arts.

For this canvas, I adhered paper from the collection to the wooden shape and prepared
the background by adding stamping and stenciling.  I added Bronze Shiny Powder to
gel medium and stenciled onto the paper, both around the edges of the canvas
as well as around my composition.

Stamping was added around the edges of the canvas and around the main composition.

I added Golden Calcite Color Glow to leaves and other accents.

Metal embellishments were painted with black gesso before adding the copper accents.

Once the canvas was complete, I added Ruby Color Glow onto the canvas for a
blush of pink here and there.

I hope that you like this canvas.
Until next time!

This way for adventure

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a canvas which I created as Design Team member for the 13 arts
January Challenge.

Starting this month our challenges have moved to Instagram so it will be much easier for you
to post and take part in it. We hope that you will be inspired by our mood board and create
and submit a project of your own.

A winner will receive a giftpack full of 13 arts products and will be our
Guest Designer next month. We will also feature two other best works (as voted by our DT).

and for more DT inspiration.

I am sharing my project which I created as inspiration for the challenge - a canvas
using 13arts Rusting Powder and Reagent, Watercolor Powder and Color Glows.

I prepared the background of this project by first painting it with brown and turquoise
watercolor powders and then adhering a piece of clay, made with a texture mould,
onto the centre of the canvas and then painted it with the same watercolors.

The wings and other embellishments were then adhered to the canvas and also
coloured with a combination of the two watercolor powders.

I then added gel medium, with either a paintbrush or a spatula, in areas where I
wanted to add the rusting powder, i.e. around the clocks, the wings, the propeller as well as
around the edges of the canvas.

I then added the rusting powder to the wet gel medium, shaking off the excess.
I then added the Reagent to the rusting powder and watched it work its magic.
I prefer to add a little of the liquid to a spray bottle instead of pouring the liquid on
as you waste a lot of the liquid that way.
By spraying on more of the reagent will produce the different shades of browns
in the rust effect.

I added more of the browns, blues and yellows to the project until I
was happy with the colours.

To create the gold accents, I used gold Shiny Powder added to Gel Medium and rubbed
this on with my finger to accentuate the details.

I hope that you like this project.
Until next time!
