Be Brave, Be True

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new project with you all today for 13arts using the amazing Color Glows.
These products are so versatile and to get the shimmery result that you would like,
just add them to water, acrylic fluid medium, modeling paste, gesso or even
gel medium and then apply it to your project.

For this project I altered two old CD's, using the Color Glows below on both compositions.

Once I had built my compositions on both CDs, I covered one with white gesso
and the other with black gesso.

I then added Color Glows (separately) to Acrylic Fluid Medium and applied the
colours to my compositions, spraying water here and there to allow the colour to flow
and drying between each colour.

Once the colour was dry, I lightly dry brushed over the top of both to bring out the details.

Here is the composition using Color Glows on white gesso ...

And here is the composition using Color Glows on black gesso ...

While they do look quite similar, the Color Glows definitely do have
a different effect on each gesso.

I hope that this has inspired you to try this 13arts product
on a project of your own.
Until next time!

Let your dreams be your wings

Hello creative friends.
Today I am sharing an altered photo frame created as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee
using the gorgeous Live Love Dream collection.
I love the botanicals in this collection, the blend of colours on the papers
and the beautiful chipboard pieces to match.  One of my favourites for sure!

I prepared the photo frame by painting it with Rustic Wilderness Distress Paint and then
giving it a generous application of Mermaid Effect Paste.

Once the paste was dry, I applied embellishment mousse over it here and there and then
applied crackle mousse onto the top of both pastes, making sure not to cover everything
so that the pastes would still be visible.

The chipboard embellishments were rubbed with the green paint and then
heat embossed with white embossing powder.

The resin birds were painted with distress paint and then lightly rubbed
with embellishment mousse.

Pretty cutouts, embellishments and flowers completed the project.

I hope that you like this project.
Until next time!

Cool art

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a 13arts project with you all today using a wooden canvas
together with 13arts products and papers and elements from the gorgeous new bright and bold
"Young and Free" collection.

I love the bright, vibrant yellows and reds in this collection and thought that this
apple canvas would be perfect for these papers.
I adhered paper from the collection to the apple and then gave it a good cover with
clear gesso.  I then diluted Garnet Color Glow and applied this to my canvas,
spraying with water to allow the colour to flow.
I then applied red paint around the edges of and onto the canvas with a spatula.
Once the paint was dry, I used the same method with white gesso.

The resin pieces were painted with black gesso and then, once dry, were
dry brushed with white gesso.

Once I had added all of my elements to the canvas, I combined black gesso with
gel medium and applied this around the edges and onto the canvas with a spatula.

Here are some close ups of the details ...

Dreamer of Dreams

Hi everyone.  I am sharing a mixed media canvas with you today created as Design Team
member for 13arts using the stunning new "Mr Handsome" collection.

I wanted to create lots of texture on this canvas so began by combining brown watercolour ink
with white gesso and texture powder into a thick paste.  Once I had adhered the paper
to my canvas, I stenciled onto my layout with this thick paste and then applied it around
the edges of my canvas, using a spatula.

I then mixed Color Glow ink into gel medium and stenciled with this paste as well as
applied some of it around the edges to break the brown paste.
I also mixed red bronze shiny powder with gel medium and applied this
around the edges as well.

I wasn't happy with the colour of the thick paste as it seemed too light on the canvas so I
diluted brown watercolour ink and painted it onto the paste which absorbed
the colour beautifully.

I also added the diluted brown ink around my main composition, spraying it with water
so that the colour would flow.

Explore

 Hi everyone.

I am sharing my latest project as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee with you all today.
I used the beautiful new Way-far-er travel papers as well as the ring bound album to create
a travel album for a trip that will hopefully happen once life returns to "normal" again.

I combined the papers, chipboard and embellishments together to create this album.
The front page and the "Adventure" page were painted with black gesso, were inked
with Starlite Black ink and then rubbed around the edges with a turquoise wax.
After adding paper to back of this page, I added Glossy Accents into the letters of the
word "Adventure" and then added gold micro beads into the glue, brushing off the excess
so that the beads were flush with the chipboard.

Papers were adhered to the chipboard on the back and front of the rest of the pages
and then cut around the edges with a craft knife.

Starlite Black ink was added to the chipboard with a dauber so that the ink would penetrate
the cut out areas and then lightly rubbed off the rest so that the chipboard would still
have a natural look.

Here are a few more details of the album ....

I hope that you like this album.
Until next time!
