Hello Summer

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing my new layout as Brand Ambassador
for Penelope Dee using the funky new
IN THE GROOVE collection.

This is such a cool, groovy collection which
definitely gives 70's vibes.
I prepared my background by cutting paper
from the collection and adhering them
onto the left edge of my layout.

I then stenciled onto the area where my
photograph would be with Crackle Mousse,
leaving the product to dry completely
so that the cracks would form.

Chipboard embellishments were coloured with
green spray and then, once dry, painted
with Speckled Egg Distress Oxide paint.

I completed my layout by adding elements
from the cut-out sheets as well as
acrylic embellishments as well as
splashes of diluted black gesso.

I hope that this layout has inspired you.

Journey

Hello again creative friends.
It's been a while since I posted on here,
so I am happy to share my new project
as Design Team member for 13arts with
you all today ~ a mixed media canvas ~
using an older collection, Victoriana,
as well as 13arts' mixed media products.

I prepared the background of my canvas
by painting it with black gesso, making sure to
dry it completely.  I then added Texture Powder to
modeling paste and applied this to my canvas
using a spatula, leaving it to dry
naturally to allow the cracks to form.

I painted my resin pieces first with black gesso
and then, once dry, I lightly dry brushed
them with white gesso.

I added elements from the cut-out sheet
around my photograph, together with
metal embellishments which I painted
with Tiger Eye Color Glow added
to liquid acrylic medium.

Splashes of white ink completed my project.

I hope that this project has inspired you.

Adventure Bound

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new layout as DT member
for 2Crafty Chipboard with you all today,
this time a masculine
 one using all things steampunk!

I altered the steampunk chipboard
embellishments and frames by painting
them with brown paint and then,
once dry, I lightly rubbed them with
gold and silver wax.

The light bulb word and title were heat
embossed in gold.

I arranged all of these pieces around my
photograph together with other
embellishments.

I hope that this layout has inspired you.

Adore

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing my new layout as
Design Team member for 2Crafty Chipboard
with you all today using some of the
beautiful chipboards
from the collection.

I prepared the background of my layout
with a few botanical rub-ons as well as
die-cuts to frame my photograph.

I painted the leaf branch borders with
copper paint and then layered these
above and below my photograph
together with a few die-cuts.

I painted the flourishes as well as the title
with avocado green paint and then lightly
brushed them with the copper paint.

I added the chipboard embellishments
together with the last die-cuts to my layout,
adding splashes of diluted green and copper paint
to complete my layout.

I hope that this layout has inspired you.

Summer vibes only

Hello again creative friends.
I am sharing my new project as
Design Team member for 13arts with
you all today ~ a Summery, mixed media
canvas using the beautiful Sweet
Summertime collection.

I prepared my canvas my painting
the outer edges, first with gesso and then
with a combination of liquid acrylic medium
and Carnelian Color Glow.

I then cut and adhered paper from the
collection onto the canvas.  Once adhered,
I gave the paper a good coating of clear
gesso to protect the paper from
other mediums.

Once dry, I stenciled onto the paper
with the two different stencils together
with modeling paste.

Once the paste was dry, I diluted Blue
Diamond Color Glow with water
and splashed this across the stenciling
and onto the paper where my main
composition would be.

I painted my chipboard piece with a
combination of liquid acrylic medium
and Carnelian Color Glow.
Once dry, I painted it lightly with a
combination of the acrylic medium
and Blue Diamond Color Glow so that
the Carnelian colour would
 still be visible.

I raised my photograph onto my canvas,
framing it with flowers and
die-cuts from the collection.

Splashes of blue as well as
white ink completed my layout.

I hope that this has inspired you.
