Stole my Heart

I am sharing a recent layout for FabScraps Design Team using their C110 Holly Jolly Christmas collection, although this is not a Christmas layout at all.

I made the keyhole using some air dry clay, painting it red once it was dry and then rubbed with some gold wax to bring out the details.

I inked a star stencil with some Iced Spruce Distress Oxide and then sprayed the ink lightly with water, turning the stencil over onto the paper to create a "reverse" stencil.

I tore strips of paper to make up the layout and then layered difference embellishments and stamped leaves between and on top of the layers.

The title is heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

I hope this layout has inspired you to have fun when you create!

Hope anchors the Soul

I am sharing a recent single layout for FabScraps Design Team using their new
C111 All Aboard collection.  I LOVE this range ... a lot!

I stenciled on this layout using Nuvo Mousse in Pacific Teal and heat embossed the chipboards in white Ranger Embossing powder with a bit of red added to the lighthouse.

Some flowers, art stones, seashells and other embellishments completed the layout.

Happy summer!

Beautiful Moments

This is a mini album that I made using the very beautiful Prima "Havanna" collection.
I absolutely love the colours of the papers and flowers.

I wanted to use a bit of mixed media on the cover so I painted the birds and beads in mint chalk paint and rubbed some gold wax over the edges.

For the title, I added some texture powder to some mint as well as pink paint and then painted the chipboard to give it some texture.

I just need to add some photo's to the pages and the album will be complete ...
or perhaps I'll gift it to a good friend.

Treasured Forever

Those that know me will know that I love dogs, but I LOVE cats!  Especially those that love to cuddle me back.

This was a layout that I created of our beautiful kitty, Mila, who is not a great cuddler, but she gives love in her own special way ... I know because I have the scars to prove it 😃

I covered this page with clear gesso before stenciling and stamping.
I then splashed some inks onto the stenciling, spraying with water and allowing the ink to move.

The chipboards were heat embossed first in silver and then with a bit of white around the edges.

Flowers, art stones, micro beads and some other embellishments completed the layout.

When you craft, don't forget to add some pics of your beloved pets ...
they're not with us forever 💜

Until next time!

Dwell in Possibility

I love the new Finnabair rust pasts ... the colours and the textures ... and blending the colours together to give it the effect that I want.

Here I wanted to use the "Old Walls" Texture Fantasy Rust Pastes for two reasons ...

💛 I simply love the colour combination in this set, and

💛I love the look and effect of old walls on old buildings, especially a really old Villa or Chateau.

I added some elements onto the canvas, i.e some flowers and chipboard pieces, and then coated them in the rust pastes, blending the "moss" and "cool grey" together, drying between each colour.

Once those two colours were dry, I added some of the brown from Finnabair's original rust set in some places, spraying it with water and letting the brown run down the canvas.

Once the brown was dry, I added some of the "cream" rust paste in places as well as over the chipboard pieces to make it stand out on the canvas.

The bird's nest was made from wire with some large wooden beads as bird's eggs.

I made some clay wings with Finnabairs silicone mold and painted those as well as the resin pieces in brown paint and then added Finnabair's waxes over the top to make them look old.

Some extra flowers, silicone beads, Finnabair pebbles and waxes completed the canvas.

Hope you like it!

See you all again soon 💛

My ATC's are 2,5" x 2,5" in diameter and were created using the C105 Memory Lane collection.

I combined two pieces of paper on each ATC, stamping and then stenciling with Nuvo Gold Glimmer Paste.

Each ATC has a resin piece, either a woodland door or some mushrooms, sprayed in ink and then rubbed with some of Finnabair's Vintage Gold wax to bring out the detail.

Some sisal, straws, pearls and silicone beads to add some finishing touches.  I also added some gold spray ink onto the edge of the coins and let it run down between the stenciling.  Love that effect.

I hope you like the end result!

Thanks for stopping by.

All the best!

Heaven Sent

I love this picture! It is a picture of my daughter taken some years ago, on a cheapie phone, in black and white, but I absolutely love how the light captured her face and showed the striking resemblance to my mom, who looked just like this at her age.

Because I had altered the picture to have more of a vintage look, I wanted to use Finnabair Rust Pastes in brown, red and yellow to give some elements an old, aged effect.

I first added the brown rust paste over the Dusty Attic chipboard and then blended the red and yellow rust pastes over it, until I was happy with the result.  I then cut the chipboard into pieces to fit the layout.

I then added some of the red rust paste onto some elements on the page, spraying with water so that it would run down the paper.

Loved the effect of the pastes with this range of Prima paper.

Micro beads, metal embellishments flowers and other embellishments finished the layout off.

It's time to Thrive

I am sharing a tag which I did recently using the new FabScraps C109 "A moment in time" collection.  It includes a photograph of my mom, probably taken in her mid-twenties, while she was sitting on a bench in the garden or a park.

I love the idea and look of a secret garden with butterflies and flowers so here I added Prima Marketing Inc Texture Powder by Finnabair to some green paint and painted Dusty Attic chipboards, adding some decorative moss around it to give it an old garden feel.

I added some vines around the photo and circle of the chipboard, adding some white gesso to give everything an "old" look.

The pebbles were painted with white gesso and then rubbed with Prima Marketing Inc ArtAlchemy Metallique Wax by Finnabair in White Gold.

Hope you like it!

Captured

I have so many beautiful nieces who are living all over the world. This is a photo of my brother's middle daughter and I love how the light reflects across her face making it look as if she's either in the middle of a forest or under the ocean.

I really LOVE the colours in this canvas.  Here I used paints Prima Marketing Inc ArtAlchemy paints by Finnabair in Metallique (Romance Pink) and Sparks (Butterfly Spells and Unicorn's Hair) as well as a Dazzle dye spray by Enmarc in Eggshell.

I had some Dusty Attic chipboard which I wanted to use and when removed them from their "casing", I decided to use that on my project as well.

I heat embossed the chipboard with Ranger Sticky Embossing Powder and then, when it was still hot and sticky, I rubbed some gold foil over it so that it stuck to the stickiness of the embossing powder.  So easy!

I decided to leave the flowers as is - no gesso or inks - because they looked so beautiful and clean against the pinks and golds of the paint.

Once I had completed gesso'ing and painting, I added some of Finnabair's ArtAlchemy Metallique Wax in White Gold over some of the elements to bring out the detail.

This makes me happy 💗

Now and Forever

This was a recent wooden canvas using a Prima wooden shutter, which I love.  They make me feel as if I'm in a garden in the South of France, peering through an old window set in an old wall of a very old building 😃

For this canvas, after I had given it a coat of gesso, I stenciled hanging leaves from the top of the canvas using Finnabair White Crackle Texture Paste.  I also stenciled some bricks onto the areas around where my shutters and embellishments would go using Finnabair Paper Texture Paste.

Once the pastes were dry, I added some ink sprays in greens and browns, allowing it to dry before adding some stamping with a script/word stamp randomly onto the canvas.

Using a script stencil and gold Nuvo Mousse, I added some script to the canvas.

I altered the wooden shutters using Finnabair Rust Pastes using the brown, mint and gold rust paste.  I first covered it in brown, then added a bit of the mint and gold pastes as and where I wanted it to be and then went over it all again with a bit of the brown paste.

I love the new (and old) Prima moulds and here I used the "Rustic Fleur 1" mould to make some leaves as well as flowers.  I covered these in yellow paint before adding them, other flowers and embellishments to the canvas.

I added a bit of the rust paste to the key and lightly sprayed it with water, allowing the brown paste to run down the paper behind the key.

The moss and flowers add a perfect touch to this old wall look.

Once I had added everything to the canvas, I lightly painted over most things with white gesso and then, once that was dry, I rubbed Prima Metallique Wax in Aged Brass over the crackle texture paste leaves, the shutters and anything else on the canvas that I felt need some dimension.

I love the finished look!  And I really hope that you do too 💛
