Advent Calendar

 

Hi creative friends.

I am sharing a new project with you all today as Brand Ambassador for

Penelope Dee using the beautiful MerryMint Christmas collection.

I used the Christmas Advent Calendar in a non-traditional way, 

not to be filled with treats to begin the countdown to Christmas, 

but rather to be used for random acts of kindness to prepare 

our hearts for the season.

I prepared a wooden frame by painting it with green paint and 

then adding patterned paper to the frame base.

Stenciling was added to the base paper and then lightly brushed with

gold paste.

I assembled the little matchboxes before cutting and adhering 

patterned paper from the collection to fit inside the boxes.  

I then cut the remain pieces from the calendar as a lid for each box and 

adhered patterned paper to each box top before lightly stenciling with green paste 

or brushed with gold paste.

I painted the chipboard numbers, title and reindeer with gold paste and then

lightly dusted them with Red Tinsel embossing powder before heat setting.

The boxes were then adhered to the frame, taking care to leave enough space

between each one to insert the edge of each lid.

The calendar was then embellished for Christmas.
