Back in time

 Hello creative friends.

It's a new day, a new month and a new year!
I would like to wish you all the very best for 2023.
May the new year bring you all your heart's desires.

I am sharing a new project as Design Team member
for 13arts created as inspiration for the
January Mood Board Challenge.

The 13arts challenge is a fun way to
explore different colours/themes that you
might not always choose and so give you
an opportunity to venture out of your
comfort zone.  Be inspired by this
new mood board, create a project of
your own and then submit it onto
INSTAGRAM only using
the #13artsJan23.  There is an
amazing prize for the winner who will
also be invited to Guest Design
for 13arts.

I created this canvas using ephemera
from the BACK IN TIME collection
as well as 13arts amazing mixed
media products and mediums.

I prepared the background of my canvas by
diluting 13arts Color Glows with water and then
painting them onto the canvas, spraying
with water to allow the product to move.
Once it was dry, I combined 13arts Texture
Powder with modeling paste and applied
this to my canvas using a spatula,
leaving it to dry to allow the
cracks to form.  I used the same product
to stencil around my canvas.
I also added some stenciling with a
combination of gel medium and Tiger
Eye Color Glow.

I painted the resin pieces with the Color
Glows combined with Liquid
Acrylic Medium, leaving them to dry
before lightly brushing with white gesso.

I added metallic foil to the centre of my
canvas and then layered the resin pieces
with ephemera and transparent foil from
the BACK IN TIME collection,
adding the Tiger Eye Color Glow
around my composition to create depth.

I hope that this project has inspired you to
join the 13arts challenge this month.

Christmas Time

 Hello creative friends.
It is so hard to believe that another Christmas
has come and gone and that a brand
new year is fast approaching.

I am sharing a new Christmas layout as
Design Team member for 2Craft Chipboard
with you all today using some of the
beautiful chipboards from the collection.

I prepared the clock face by colouring it with
a burgundy ink and then lightly dusting it with
gold embossing powder before heating
with a heat gun.

The corner crackle was painted with green
paint and then also lightly embossed with gold.

I love the little Santa gnomes and
they were perfect for my layout!
I coloured one with burgundy ink and painted
the other two with green paint.
These were also lightly heat embossed in gold.

The leaves were covered in the gold embossing
powder before heating with a heat gun.

Some flowers, cut-outs and splashes of
green paint completed my layout.

I hope that the new year is a good one for you
and your families and that you find the
time to be creative.

Summertime

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new double page layout as
Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee using the
beautiful SUNKISSED collection.

I prepared the background of my layout by layering
papers from the collection to form the backdrop
for my photographs and embellishments.

I stenciled onto my layout using the
co-ordinating stencil, a soft brush and a
green metallic wax.

I painted my chipboard embellishments,
including the title, with red ink and then, once dry,
I lightly rubbed them with the green metallic wax.

I then layered my photographs together
with the chipboard pieces as well as cut-outs
from the collection.

I hope that this bright, summery layout has
inspired you to create one of your own.

Tis the Season

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new mixed media Christmas
project as Design Team member for 13arts
using paper from the CHRISTMAS STORIES
collection as well as some of my favourite
13arts mixed media products
and mediums.

I prepared the wooden panel by first painting it
with white gesso.  I then applied gel medium
along the edges before adding Rusty Bronze
powder to the medium and then applying the
rust reagent to the powder to allow the rust to form.

Once these products had dried, I mixed
Texture Powder with white gesso and applied this
medium onto the wooden panel, over some of the
rust and allowed this to dry so that the
cracks would form.

The little chipboard houses and trees were painted
with brown as well as black watercolour powder
paint diluted with water.

I also added some of the diluted black
powder to the crackle paste on the wooden panel.

Chipboard pieces were painted with white acrylic
ink.  I gave everything on my project a light
dusting of white gesso and then, once dry,
some pieces were lightly painted with
gold glitter ink.

I hope that you all have a blessed Christmas.

Every summer has a story

Hello again creative friends.
I am sharing my new layout as Brand Ambassador
for Penelope Dee with you all using the
bright and beautiful new SUNKISSED collection.

I tore papers from the collection to form the
backdrop for my photograph and embellishments.
I added an avocado green paint to gel medium
and stenciled around my main composition.
I painted my chipboard pieces with diluted
green paint, dabbing off the excess.
Once dry, I added chipboards and embellishments
from the cut-out sheet to frame my photograph.

Here are some closer-ups of the details
on my layout ...

Thank you so much for stopping by.
