Simple joy

Hi everyone.
Today I am sharing a single layout which I created as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee
using the Simply Life collection.

I loved this paper from the collection with the stone detail and knew that I had the perfect pic for it.  We had enjoyed a Sunday afternoon visit to Franschhoek in the Cape and taken the pic at the entranceway to a quaint walk through to shops and restaurants.  The stone of the arch above us reminded me of the stone arch on the paper.

I wanted to recreate the look of the stones and pebbles onto my layout so I stenciled using a cobble stencil and expanding mousse.  Once the mousse had been heated, it gave the raised look of a cobble stone wall.

I stamped around the arch on the page to make it look cracked.

I used a stamp on my chipboard title.

A mixture of gel medium and jade green paint was added around the edges of my layout and also lightly rubbed onto the chipboard embellishment to make the wording stand out.
I added stamped leaves and a few stamped and heat embossed leaves around my composition.

I hope that you like this layout.
Until next time!

Timeless

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a single layout with you today as my final project as Guest Designer for 13 Arts.

And, I have some very exciting news .....
I am staying on with 13 Arts as part of their Design Team!

I am absolutely thrilled to be joining a company and team who continue to inspire and create the most amazing papers and mixed media products for the crafting industry.
Thank you so much to Aida and 13 Arts for including me and allowing me to share my creativity with you all.
I hope that our projects will inspire you to create your own.

I used two sheets of paper from the Unforgettable range for this layout, cutting the one so that I could place it in the bottom right corner of the layout.
I added Tiger Eye Color Glow to Gel Medium and then stenciled onto the background of the layout, using the spatula to pull some of the colour downwards on the layout.
Once the gel medium was dry, I added some black gesso around and over the stenciling as well as around the edges of the layout.
Coral Red Color Glow was diluted and painted around the composition.
I added some Bronze Shiny Powder to transparent wax and rubbed this around the edges of the page, around my photograph as well as around the composition.  Stamping was also added onto the layout.

I hope that you like this layout.

A simply great life

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a single layout with you that I created using the new
Simply Life collection from Penelope Dee.

I love the neutral tones of this collection which makes it perfect to add
an accent pop of colour.

I prepared the background of this layout by adding paint to gel medium and
stenciling onto the paper around the area of my composition.

Chipboard elements were painted with black gesso, dry brushed with the same colour
that I used for stenciling and then a light dust of white gesso on top to bring out the details.

Leaves were stamped and cut out and then added around the main composition.

The chipboard title was heat embossed using white embossing powder.

I hope that you like this layout.
Until next time!

You are the hero of your story

Hi everyone.
I am sharing this double page layout created as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee
using the Life Story collection.

I love the tiny blue flowers in the paper design and decided to use blue on this layout.

I stenciled onto the page first with periwinkle blue paint mixed with white texture paste,
then with Nuvo Grey Matter Expanding Mousse and then with pink paint mixed with
white texture paste, making sure to dry between each colour.

Chipboard elements were painted with silver craft paint and then, once dry,
lightly rubbed with pink wax.

I really love the blues on this layout.  It goes so well with the papers.

I hope that you like this layout.
Until next time!

Live in the moment

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a single layout created using inspiration from the 13Arts mood board challenge
for August, being inspired by the colours or elements in the board.

I was drawn to the blues and metals in the picture and so decided to make that the base of
my layout before I start adding any details.

I used one of the papers from the "Vintage Moments" collection and started by coating
 the paper with clear gesso.

I then added Luster Black Shiny Powder to modeling paste and stenciled onto the paper
where my composition would be.
When the modeling paste was still wet, I lightly dusted it with silver embossing powder
nd then heated it until the powder melted.

I added black gesso to gel medium and added stenciling to create contrast.
This medium was also added around the edge of the layout.

Once all the stenciling was dry, I sprayed water onto my layout and added Chalk Indigo and
Chalk Light Blue mists, allowing them to move in the water.

I also diluted Luster Black Shiny Powder with water and painted onto
the layout to create the desired effect.

I heat embossed the white chipboard pieces with white embossing powder.

All embellishments were added around the photograph.

Some splashes of white and the layout was complete.

I hope that you like this layout.
Until next time!

Life story

Hi everyone.
Today I am sharing a single page layout created as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee using the
gorgeous new Life Story collection.

to view all other projects with this collection.

I prepared the background of this layout by tearing selected papers from the collection, covering
them with clear gesso and then stenciling with silver Icing Paste.

The chipboard title was coloured using Pressed Peony Glitter Marker by Nuvo.

To create texture on the layout, I added silver micro beads to gel medium and
stenciled around the centre composition to create the desired effect.
Some of the chipboard elements were painted with metallic silver craft paint and then
partially coloured with the glitter market.

I hope that you like this layout.
Until next time!

Enjoy the journey

Hi everyone.
I am so excited to share my second project as Guest Designer for 13 Arts.
I created this single page layout using papers from Down Under and Victoriana collections.
I love the bright vibrant colour of the yellow paper from Down Under and it suited the
muted tones from the Victoriana paper as well as my photograph.
I included some of the cutouts from the Victoriana sheet on my layout as well.

I prepared the background of the layout (yellow paper) by stenciling with modeling paste
mixed with Andalusite Color Glow paint powder.  I then tore the Victoriana paper, adhering it
to the yellow sheet and then adding stenciling to it as well.  Once the modeling paste was dry,
I added diluted Andalusite and Amber (separately) onto the stenciling, spraying with water
so that it moved on the page.

I stamped onto the papers with black Archival Ink and then did some additional stenciling
down the sides of the layout with modeling paste.  Once the stenciling was dry,
I added black gesso with a spatula, dragging it down the sides of the layout as well as
lightly brushing it onto the white stenciling.  Once the gesso was dry, I added
Amber Color Glow to modeling paste and stenciled on top of everything.

The chipboard pieces were painted with diluted Andalusite Color Glow.
I love how this paint powder gives a silver shine when you look at it from an angle.

I hope that you like this layout.
Until next time!
