Vintage

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a mixed media canvas with you all today which
I created as Design Team member for 13arts using elements
from the Back in Time collection.

I prepared this canvas by first painting it with black gesso.
I then applied sticky glue here and there to prepare for gilding flakes.
Once the glue was tacky, I added the flakes, brushing off the
excess with a hard brush.

I then mixed white gesso and 13arts Texture Powder together and applied
this onto my canvas, this enough so that cracks would form
once the paste was dry.

I painted some of the embellishments with brown Vintage paint
and then added gilding flakes to them as well.

I added elements from the ephemera pack, the cut-out sheet
as well as the sticker sheet.

I hope that this project inspires you to create one of your own
using these amazing 13arts products.

You make my heart happy

Hi everyone.
I am sharing my new project as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee with you
all today using the Cocoa Love collection.
This time I altered a wooden candle holder which I filled with fairy lights.

I prepared the holder by brushed it with white chalk paint, giving it a very
light brush so that you can still see some of the wood.

I then covered the out- and inside panels with paper from the collection,
painting the outside ones with clear gesso.

I then stenciled onto the outside of the holder, allowing the paste to dry
completely before adding some inks and paints.

I cut elements from the collection and added these on top of and around
the holder, laying them to created a 3D effect.

I also used some chipboard pieces from previous collections, heat embossing
them in silver before adding them to my project.

And finally the finished project with the lights on!

I hope that this project inspires you to create
your own with these beautiful Penelope Dee papers.

Home

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing my new layout as Design Team member for 13arts
using papers and embellishments from the beautiful Home Sweet Home collection.
I love the cozy vibe which this collection has - it is one of my favourites for sure.

I prepared the background of this layout by tearing papers and adhering them together.
I then mixed Saphire Color Glow with modeling paste and
stenciling onto the paper around the area where my main composition
would be, leaving it to dry completely.

Chipboard pieces were heat embossed in white and then lightly dabbed
with the same modeling paste, lightly diluted with water.

I added ephemera from the collection around my photograph,
layering some of them to create depth.

Once I had added everything to my layout, I added glitter ink around the
main composition as well as around the edges of the paper
with a spatula.

I hope that this layout inspires you to create
one of your own with these amazing 13arts papers and products.

Love with all your heart

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new project as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee,
an altered embroidery hoop using papers and embellishments from
the gorgeous new Rose Garnet collection.

I painted the embroidery hoop as well as the resin pieces with
aubergine paint and then, once the paint was dry, added a
small amount of green paint before lightly brushed them
with white gesso.

I backed the hoop with paper from the collection and covered it
with clear gesso.  I added stenciling and, once the paste was dry,
I added the aubergine paint to the stenciling, spraying it with water
to allow the colour to move.

Chipboard embellishments were sprayed with Ice Spruce Distress Spray.

Lots of layering of cut-outs and flowers completed by project.

I hope that this project inspires you to create one of your own.

Story of love

Hello creative friends.
Hello February and the month of love!
The monthly mood board challenge at 13arts is a fun way to explore different
colours and themes that you might not always choose and so give you
an opportunity to venture out of your comfort zone.
And this month's challenge does just that.  It speaks of love and romance,
bringing those that we love a little closer into our hearts.

As inspiration for this challenge, I created and altered a small tin and
made a mini mini album to fit inside it.
I love the vintage papers of the Rosalie collection and felt that it
was perfect for my project and this challenge.

I covered the tin with white gesso and then combined modeling paste and
texture powder together, applying it around the edges of the tin
and lid with a spatula.  When dry, these products together
crack and give lots of texture to your project.

I then coloured the tin with Rose Quartz as well as
Tiger Eye Color Glows.

I added ephemera and transparent foil elements onto the top
of the lid, colouring the resin piece with the same Color Glows.

I made a book mini album for inside the tin and
decorated the front to match the front of the tin.

I stenciled onto the covers and pages of the album and then,
once dry, I added glitter ink with a spatula.

Here are details on the pages ...

I hope that this project inspires you to create your own
for this month's challenge.
