Fly high

Hello again creative friends.
I am happy to share another of my
projects as Design Team member
for 13arts ~ a mixed media canvas
using elements from the AURORA
collection as well as 13arts'
mixed media products.

I prepared the background of my
round wooden canvas by painting it with
black gesso.
I then combined fine glass microbeads
together with gel medium and
applied this product to my canvas,
using a spatula.
Once the product was dry,
I painted it all with black gesso,
leaving it to dry completely before lightly
dry brushing the texture with white gesso
to make it stand out.

I painted my doily and flourish chipboard
embellishments with Goldstone
Color Glow combined with
liquid acrylic medium.

Other chipboard embellishments were
painted with a combination of
Iolite and Alexandrite together with
liquid acrylic medium and then,
once dry, lightly brushed with
the Goldstone Color Glow.
I also added gold glitter ink
to these chipboard elements.

The windows and shutter resin
embellishments as well as the bricks,
were painted with white gesso,
lightly dry brushed with black gesso
and then lightly painted with
the above two Color Glow combinations
(the Goldstone as well as the purple
combination), drying between each layer.

Other resin embellishments were painted
with the above combinations and then,
once dry, lightly brushed with
gold glitter ink.

I applied glue to the bottom of the
glass domes and then, applied purple glitter
to the glue before adhering them to my canvas.

I adhered all elements to my canvas,
framing my composition with flowers,
leaves and ephemera.
Once I has adhered everything
to my canvas, I added some of the
Color Glow colours around my composition,
spraying with a bit of water
to allow the colour to move.

I hope that this canvas has inspired you
to create your own with these wonderful
mixed media products.

Beautiful life

Hello creative friends.
I am so happy to share my new layouts
with you all and this one has a few of the
beautiful layouts available from 2Crafty Chipboard.

2 Crafty Chipboard now have a retail
section on their website so, if you cannot
find what you would like at your local store,
you can now buy directly from 2Crafty Chipboard.

I altered all chipboards on my layout by
painting them with a bronze metallic paint.
I then added a small amount of gold embossing
powder to the hearts in the spray as well as
the hot air balloons and then heat set
the powder with my heat gun.
I then brushed the edges of the chipboards
lightly with white gesso.

I added the chipboards, rub-ons, papers
and ephemera to frame my photograph.
I added stenciling along the edges
of my layout, adding gold embossing powder
to the product while it was still wet
and then heat set the powder
with my heat gun.

I hope that this layout has inspired you to
create your own with these beautiful chipboards.

Off Road

Hello again creative friends.
I am sharing my new layout as
Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee with
you all today using the amazing new
OUT THERE collection.

I created this masculine layout by
layering papers from the collection to form
the backdrop for my photograph
and embellishments.

I stenciled onto my background with a
combination of Amber metallic paint and
gel medium, leaving it to
dry completely.

I also added the product to some of
the chipboard pieces, wiping off
the excess.

I layered elements from the cut-out sheets,
together with the chipboard embellishments,
around my photograph, stamping onto
the top and bottom of my layout.
Some splashes of green paint
completed my layout.

I hope that this layout has inspired you.

Colorful Life

Hello creative friends.
I love to share my new projects
with you all and this one is as
Design Team member for 13arts ~
a single layout featuring the beautiful
papers and ephemera from
the SECRET GARDEN collection.

I heat embossed the chipboard pieces
with gold embossing powder.

My resin pieces were painted with a
combination of liquid acrylic medium
and Tanzanite Color Glow. Once the
product was dry, I lightly dry brushed
these embellishments with white gesso.

I added ephemera, chipboard and resin
pieces to my layout to frame my photograph.

Once my layout was completed, I added
stamping, stenciling and splashes of diluted
Tanzanite Color Glow around my layout
to complete it.

I hope that this project has inspired you.

Cozy

Hello again creative friends.
I am sharing my new project as
Design Team member for 13arts ~
a mixed media canvas as inspiration
for the June Mood Board Challenge
using paper and elements from the
HOME SWEET HOME collection.

I prepared the background by adhering
paper from the collection to my canvas
and then covering it with a generous layer
of gel medium.

I then applied sticky glue randomly to
the paper using a paintbrush.  Once the
glue had dried and was sticky, I applied
metallic flakes to the it, allowing it to
set before brushing off the excess flakes.

I combined texture powder with white gesso,
mixing it thoroughly before applying it
along the edges of my canvas with a spatula,
sometimes over some of the metallic flakes.
I also stenciled along the edges of the product,
allowing it to dry completely to
expose the cracks.

Once everything was dry, I diluted
Garnet Color Glow with water and
applied it onto my canvas, around my
main composition, spraying with water
to allow the colour to more.

I painted resin pieces with brown paint
as well as Garnet Color Glow combined with
liquid acrylic medium and then dry brushing
with white gesso once all product was dry.

I then also applied metallic flakes
to the resin pieces using sticky glue.

I hope that this project has inspired you to
create your own for the June challenge.
