Take time to smell the roses

Hi everyone.
I am sharing my new layout as Design Team
member for 13arts with you all today using
paper and embellishments from the
ROSE IN LOVE collection.

I love the soft pink and blues in this collection.
I use these papers a lot so it is definitely
a favourite of mine!

I prepared the background of my layout by
stenciling leaves onto the floral sections with
modeling paste.  I then combined Turquoise
and Blue Saphire Color Glows with
modeling paste to create a soft blue and
stenciled around the edges of my layout,
dragging the colour onto the background
with a spatula.

I painted all chipboard embellishments with
white acrylic ink.

I cut my title from the velum sheet.

I layered all flowers, cut-outs and chipboards
around my photograph and onto the edge
of my layout.

I hope that this layout inspires you.

Down by the sea

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new layout as Brand Ambassador
for Penelope Dee with you all today using
the new TIDAL FLORALS collection.

I tore different papers from the collection and
layered these onto the base page of my layout.

I painted the coral chipboard piece with
black gesso and applied sticky glue to it.  I then
added silver gilding flakes to the sticky glue,
brushing off the excess with a hard brush.

I added stenciling to my layout
with silver metallic wax.

Chipboard pieces were dry brushed
with black gesso.

Chipboard words on my layout were also
lightly heat embossed with silver
embossing powder.

Splashes of white ink
completed my layout.

I hope that this layout inspires you.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Dream

Hello creative friends

I am sharing a new layout as Design Team member for 13arts
created as inspiration for the October Mood Board Challenge.

This is a fun way to explore different colours/themes
that you might not always choose and so give you
an opportunity to venture out of your comfort zone.
Be inspired by this new mood board,
create a project of your own and then submit it onto
INSTAGRAM only using the #13artsOct22.
There is an amazing prize for the winner
who will also be invited to Guest Design for 13arts.

I created a canvas as inspiration for this challenge using
13arts mixed media products and mediums.

I coloured the base of my canvas with Amber
Color Glow combined with Liquid Acrylic Medium
and then, once the product was dry, I stamped around the edges
and then stenciled with a combination of
Tiger Eye Color Glow mixed with gel medium,
dragging the product along the edges of my
canvas with my spatula.

Once the stenciling was dry, I added a combination of
Amber and Garnet Color Glows together and applied
the colour through the centre of my canvas,
around the stenciled face.

The resin dragonfly was painted with Tiger Eye Color Glow
and then lightly rubbed with a wax which I made
from a clear wax and Bronze Shiny
Powder from 13arts.

I also rubbed the wax around the edges of my canvas.

I hope that this project has inspired you to
participate in this month's challenge.

Your smile

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing my latest project as Design Team member
for 2Crafty Chipboard with you all today using
beautiful chipboards from the collection as well as
cut-outs from the Penelope Dee "Chelsea" collection.

I altered the chipboard decorative panel by first
painting it with brown acrylic paint.  I then applied a product
from 13arts called Rusty Bronze Powder here and there
and then added the Rust Reagent to the powder
to allow the rust to form.

I wanted to add extra pieces of rust onto my project
so I placed liquid acrylic medium onto a craft sheet
and added the Rusty Bronze Powder to the mixture.
I then added the Reagent to the medium and powder
and left it to dry in the sun and for the rust to form.

Once it was dry, I broke pieces off and tucked
them between my cut-outs as well as onto the decorative panel.

I painted the chipboard leaves with Jadeite Color Glow
from 13arts mixed with liquid acrylic medium and then,
once dry, I lightly added copper wax around the edges.

The chipboard floral sprays were painted with
brown acrylic paint and then lightly rubbed with
copper and lilac wax.

The title was painted with the same green Color Glow
and then rubbed with copper wax, making sure that the wax
coloured the embossed wording.

I hope that this project has inspired you.

Salt water therapy

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new double layout as Brand Ambassador
for Penelope Dee with you all today using the
new TIDAL FLORALS collection.

As we approach Summer in our part of the world,
this is such a beautiful collection ~ with the soft blues,
sandy browns and beautiful embellishments ~ to match
any beach themed project.

I cut and layered papers from the collection and
adhered these to my background together with
some ribbons and my photographs.

I coloured the chipboard sea elements with light blue
paint, making sure to rub the colour into the
recessed areas of the chipboards.
Other chipboards were coloured with a light brown ink.
I added the chipboards and cut-out embellishments
to my layout.

I love these acrylic sea anenomes.  Aren't they beautiful?!

I had this piece of picket fencing in my personal stash
which goes perfectly on my layout.

I hope that this layout has inspired you.
