Retro

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new steampunk wooden canvas as Design Team
member for 13arts using the amazing Industrial Zone collection.

I prepared the background of my canvas by
embossing thin metal sheets, painting them with
Golden Calcite Color Glow with acrylic medium
and then, once dry, lightly brushed with brown
vintage paint.

I cut paper from the collection to fit the centre of
my canvas and gave it a good coating of clear gesso.
I then stenciled onto the paper with the Golden Calcite
Color Glow mixed with gel medium, dragging the
product downwards on my paper.
I added the medium along the edges of the paper
and, while the product was still wet, I lightly added
Rusty Bronze powder to it, adding the reagent to
allow the powder to react and turn rusty.

I painted the chipboard pieces with the brown vintage paint.

Resin embellishments were painted with black gesso,
then the brown vintage paint and then, while the
paint was still wet, Rusty Bronze powder was added,
together with the reagent.

I cut many pieces out of the cut-out sheets and
added these to my canvas together with all of the
embellishments which I had altered.

I hope that this project inspires you to create your
own with these amazing papers and products.

Journey

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new mixed media canvas with you all
today as Design Team member for 2Crafty Chipboard
featuring some of the steampunk chipboards
as well as papers and embellishments from
the 13arts "Victoriana" collection.

I painted the decorative panel with black gesso and then
dry brushed it with gold paint before backing it with
patterned paper and adding to my canvas.

My inspiration for this project was the colours
in my metallic flakes so I painted some
embellishments with black gesso and then added
the flakes to them, including my title.

The rest of my chipboard embellishments were painted
with gold paint and then added to my canvas.

I layered all of my embellishments with flowers and
cut-outs to give depth to my project.

I hope that this project has inspired you to create one
of your own with these amazing products.

Beautiful

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new layout as Brand Ambassador
for Penelope Dee with you all today using the
beautiful new MEMOIRS collection.

I love the romantic feel of the pink and green florals
and botanicals in this collection which suited
my photograph perfectly.

I painted the chipboard embellishments in green
paint mixed with white gesso to mute the green slightly.

Stenciling was done with Sage Green Distress Oxide
to give a soft look.

Lots of fussy cutting from the cut-out sheets
completed my layout.

I hope that his layout inspires you to create
one of your own.

Use your wings and fly

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new mixed media canvas
as Design Team member for 13arts using the
gorgeous, dramatic "Queen of the Night collection.

I prepared my wooden canvas by covering it with paper
from the collection and then giving it a good coating
of clear gesso, leaving it to dry completely.

I stamped onto the edges of my canvas and then
added Onyx Color Glow to gel medium,
stenciling around my canvas and dragging the spatula
up and down on my canvas until I was
happy with the result.

I added Texture Powder to white gesso to
form a thick paste and then applied the paste along
the left and right sides of my canvas, leaving the paste
to dry completely to form the cracks.

I then mixed Garnet and Tiger Eye Color Glow
together with gel medium, adding additional
stenciling in some places.

I painted the round resin pieces in black gesso and
then applied gel medium to them.
I lightly covered the gel medium with
Rusty Bronze powder, shaking off the excess.
I then applied Reagent to the powder,
leaving it to react with the powder. Once it was dry,
I applied more of the Reagent to give the rust effect
that I wanted.

Once I had added everything to my canvas,
I added gel medium onto the canvas, below the
rusted elements and used the same process as above,
allowing the Reagent to run down the canvas
into the cracks of the paste.

Other pieces on my canvas were painted with
black gesso and then lightly brushed with white gesso.

Once everything had been added to my canvas,
I lightly brushed florals and other embellishments
with white gesso.

I hope that this project inspires you to create one
of your own with these beautiful
13arts papers and products.

Dream

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new layout for 2Crafty Chipboard
using some beautiful chipboards from the collection.

I love nature and the outdoors and wanted to
create a forest, woodland layout to match my photograph.

I stenciled onto the background of my layout using
gel medium and 13arts Golden Calcite Color Glow,
dragging the product with my spatula onto my layout.

Some chipboards were painted with a combination of
acrylic medium together with the same Color Glow.

The window shutters were painted with black gesso
and then lightly brushed with green ink.
I applied the same paint to the edges
of the fern leaves.

I layered the chipboard and other embellishments
with flowers to create depth.

Chipboards used on my layout include

I hope that this layout inspires you to create your own
