Be happy

Hi everyone.
Today I am sharing my new project as Design Team member for 13arts
with you all ... a hexagonal wooden canvas which I altered using 13arts products and papers and embellishments from the Aurora collection.

I prepared the background of the canvas by first painting it with black gesso.
I then applied sticky glue to the background and, when the glue
was sticky, I added some really cool gilding flakes which have so many colours
including gold, orange copper and blue/purple which match the colour
scheme of my project perfectly.

I combined Golden Calcite Color Glow with gel medium
and stenciled onto my canvas.

The resin frames were painted with black gesso and then splashed with
Golden Calcite Color Glow combined with Acrylic Medium
before lightly brushing with white gesso.
I then lightly brushed them with Gold Glitter paint.

Chipboard elements were painted with the same Color Glow.

I cut hexagons out of Aurora papers and layered them on my project
around my main composition.

Layers of embellishments and flowers completed my project.

Products used on my project include the following ...

I hope that you like this project and are inspired to create one of your own.
Until next time!

Around the clock

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a new project for 13arts with you today, a large wooden
mixed media canvas with a steampunk/grungy feel.

I used papers and embellishments from "Back in Time, one of my favourite
collections and, of course 13arts mixed media products and mediums.

I prepared the background of this canvas by first painting with a coat of
white gesso and then adhered the rice paper from the collection
to the top half of the canvas.  I then painted it with a good
covering of clear gesso.

Once it was dry, I mixed modeling paste and texture powder together and
applied it around my canvas with a spatula.  This coating needs to be
thick enough to form the beautiful cracks that you see in the picture below.

Once the paste was completely dry, I applied diluted Andalusite and
Tourmaline Color Glows individually to my canvas, spraying it with water
to allow it to run and move on my canvas.
I stenciled onto the top of the colour once verything was dry.
As the modeling paste dries, it takes on a bit of the colour
from the Color Glows.

Resin pieces were painted with Andalusite Color Glow mixed with
fluid medium and set aside to dry.  Once dry, all resin
pieces were dry brushed with white gesso.

Once dry, they were adhered to my canvas in the
composition that you see below.

Ephemera and other embellishments were added
around my composition.

Chipboard pieces on my canvas were heat embossed
with white embossing powder.

I hope that you like this project and are inspired to create one of your own.
Until next time!

Home sweet home

Hello creative friends.
The 13arts' Home Sweet Home collection is definitely one of my favourites.
I love the colour combinations on the papers and embellishments ...
a very cozy collection, with a boho feel.

I have created a single layout as Design Team inspiration using papers and ephemera from the collection as well as 13arts mixed media products.
See if you can spot the shaker box on my layout 😊

I combined Rose Quartz Color Glow with gel medium to stencil onto my layout.
I then added gold glitter to gel medium and stenciled here and there
on top of the pink stenciling, dragging some of the product down my layout
with a spatula.

Chipboard embellishments were painted with Solidate Color Glow, lightly brushed
with white gesso and then splashed with Rose Quartz Color Glow.

Some of the products used include the following ...

I hope that you like this layout and are inspired to create one of your own
with these beautiful products.
Until next time!

Back in time

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing my new project for 13arts with you all today using papers and ephemera
from the stunning new "Back in Time" collection.

I used some chipboard clocks from my stash for this project and painted
the larger one with Cairo Night Color Glow combined with acrylic medium
and the smaller one with Rose Quartz Color Glow.
I then heat embossed the large clock with pink/gold embossing glitter before
backing it with paper from the collection. The small clock was backed with
a different paper before adhering it to the centre of my project.
Before adhering both clocks to the patterned paper, I combined the Rose Quartz
Color Glow with gel medium and lightly applied it around the papers,
dragging my spatula downwards over some of the stenciling and giving the papers
a grungy look.

The resin branches and clock in the centre of my project were painted with
the same Color Glows combined with acrylic medium, first the blue and then,
once dry, the pink.

I used pieces from the Ephemera pack to construct my main composition,
raising some above others to give a 3D effect.

I hope that you like this project
and are inspired to create your own with these beautiful products.
Until next time!

You are the treasures in my ocean breeze

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a single layout with you all today as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee
featuring the beautiful Ocean Blue collection.

I prepared the background of this layout by tearing paper from the collection and then
adhering it across the centre of my main page.
I cut strips of  gold glitter paper and adhered these across my page to resemble "waves".

I stenciled onto my layout with blue expanding mousse, applying gold embossing powder
to the mousse while it was still wet and before heating with a heat gun.

The title was coloured with diluted expanding mousse.

Elements from the cutout sheet completed my beach layout.

I hope that you like this layout and are inspired to create your own.
Until next time!

Fairytale

Hello creative friends.
I am sharing a project which I created as Design Team member for 13arts
as inspiration for the October Mood Board Challenge.

I was inspired by the greens and ambers in the mood board so used paper from the
beautiful new Aurora collection which was perfect for the colour combination.

I stenciled onto the paper, around my composition, with a combination of
Andalusite Color Glow and gel medium, using the star stencil from the same collection.

The resin pieces were painted with a combination of Jadeite and Andalusite Color Glows
combined with Acrylic Liquid Medium and then, once dry, I added
Amber Color Glow and Liquid Medium here and there.
Once all mediums were dry, I added sticky glue randomly to the pieces, waiting for it to
dry a bit before adding foil.

The title and half moon were heat embossed in white.

Once everything had been added to my layout, I added diluted Amber Color Glow
around my composition.

Some of the 13arts products used included the following ...

I hope that you like this layout and are inspired to create your own.
Until next time!
