Dreaming

Hi everyone.
Today I am sharing a layout with you today for the 13arts November Mood Board Challenge.

Visit the 13arts blog on http://13artspl.blogspot.com/2020/11/wyzwanie-challenge-96.html
to view all projects by the 13arts Design Team for this challenge.

I used papers and embellishments from the the Dreamland collection for this layout.
I combined gesso and green ink together and applied it to the background of the layout with a spatula.

When the gesso was dry, I added Old Gold Glitter Ink over the gesso in places,
dragging the spatula downwards on the page.

Lots of fussy cutting and flowers were added around the main composition.

Stamping was added around the edges and Cinnamon ink added around the
main composition for depth.

I hope that you like this layout and are inspired to take part in this month's challenge.
Until next time!

Walking on sunshine

Hi everyone.
Today I am sharing a single layout created as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee using
the beautiful new Alyssia collection.

There are so many beautiful pinks and peaches in this collection but decided to just use
the green and black this time.
I halved the layout with two pages from the collection and added crystal drops onto
some of the black spots to balance the green from the left side of the layout.

The chipboard title, the edges of the flowers and some of the bicycle were also coloured
with the same crystal drops.

I die-cut and stamped some leaves from the co-ordinating stamps and added them
around my composition.

Resin wings were painted with black gesso and then lightly dry brushed with white gesso.

I hope that you like this layout.
Until next time!

Rice Papers from 13arts

Hi everyone.
Today I am sharing three projects showcasing the beautiful new 13arts rice papers which
co-ordinate with each of the new collections.

I created an art journal page for my first project using the rice paper from the
End of Summer collection.

I combined gel medium and black ink and then stenciled onto the page.

I love the bright, bold colours of this collection and used co-ordinating watercolor paints
to add more colour.

For my second project, I adhered rice paper from the Bella collection to this wooden leaf.

I added pearl shiny powder to gel medium and stenciled onto the rice paper.

When the gel medium was dry, I added bronze shiny powder to gel medium and,
using a spatula, added it around the edges of the leaf as well as
lightly brushing it over the stenciling.

I created a single layout for my third project, incorporating the Sunrise rice paper into my flowers.

I made some flowers out of the rice paper as well as added layers to foamiran flowers.

I hope that you like these projects and that I have inspired you to try the new rice papers.
Until next time!

Sempre

Hi everyone.
Today I am sharing a layout for 13arts with you using the beautiful new Bella collection.
The original photo of my niece and her friend is of them sitting in a doorway and I felt
that this pic would be perfect for this paper with the big, beautiful door.

I stenciled onto the background of the layout and then, when the modeling paste was dry,
I added pink watercolor paint around the stenciling.

I added gel medium mixed with Bronze Shiny Powder and applied it around the edges
of my layout with a spatula.  The chipboard pieces were painted with the same Shiny Powder
combined with a little liquid medium.

Lots of fussy cutting completed this layout.

I hope that this has inspired you to create your own project with the
amazing 13arts papers and products.

Until next time!

Sunrise

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a recent mixed media layout for 13arts blogpost using the gorgeous new
Sunrise collection.

These papers are all so beautiful ... it's difficult to choose just one for a project, but I wanted
to use one that I could use a lot of mixed media on it without losing details.

I covered the paper with clear gesso, adding stamping over the page.
I combined blue and black paint powder with gel medium and stenciled along the lines of the page.
I then added the same medium around the edges of my layout, dragging the stencil in a
downwards motion.  A butterfly wing was also stenciled to the right of the main composition.
Once I had added all embellishments to the layout, I also added gel medium around the
composition to give it depth.

Diluted chalk mist was added around my layout to break the blue and to tie in with
all the pink elements on my layout.

I hope that this layout inspires you to create one of your own.
Until next time!

You are my sunshine

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a single layout which I recently created as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee
using the bright, beautiful Alyssia collection.

I prepared the chipboard embellishments by painting them with a combination of
Red Pepper and Sunset Orange Alcohol Inks and then, once dry, rubbing them with white gesso
to tone down the colours and to accentuate the grooves in the chipboard.

Stenciling was added around the main composition of the layout.

The chipboard wording was painted with black gesso.

Stenciling was also added in black.

I hope that you like this layout.
Until next time!

Memories

Hi everyone.
I am sharing a wooden tag which I created for 13arts using rice paper from the new
End of Summer collection.

I adhered the rice paper to the tag with gel medium and coated the top of the paper with medium
as well to protect it.
I then added colour to modeling paste and stenciled around the edges of the tag.

I applied gel medium to the metal frame and then added Rusty Bronze Powder before spraying
Reagent onto it to make the rust react.  It then turns all rusty and makes it look as if is has been
out in the elements for a really long time.

I did the same thing to the metal heart as well as on the left side of the tag.

I also added diluted paint around the edges as well as adding black paint to gel medium and applying it around the edges of the tag with a spatula.

I hope that you like this tag.
Until next time!

Wonderful

Hi everyone.
I am so excited to be sharing my very first 13 Arts Design Team project with you today using the beautiful new Dreamland collection.
It was so hard to choose a page from the collection because they are all so gorgeous,
but, don't worry, I will get to them all!
I felt that this page suited my photograph of my great niece perfectly.

I turned the page around so that the flowers were at the top.
To prepare the background of my layout, I added Pastel Black mist to white gesso
and applied it to the paper using a spatula and then added Pastel Cinnamon mist
to modeling paste for stenciling.

Stamping was added around the edges of the layout and Old Gold glitter ink
and silver Mika Flakes to the flowers for sparkle.
Some splashes of white ink added the finishing touches.

I hope that you like this layout and feel inspired to create your own.

Simple joy

Hi everyone.
Today I am sharing a single layout which I created as Brand Ambassador for Penelope Dee
using the Simply Life collection.

I loved this paper from the collection with the stone detail and knew that I had the perfect pic for it.  We had enjoyed a Sunday afternoon visit to Franschhoek in the Cape and taken the pic at the entranceway to a quaint walk through to shops and restaurants.  The stone of the arch above us reminded me of the stone arch on the paper.

I wanted to recreate the look of the stones and pebbles onto my layout so I stenciled using a cobble stencil and expanding mousse.  Once the mousse had been heated, it gave the raised look of a cobble stone wall.

I stamped around the arch on the page to make it look cracked.

I used a stamp on my chipboard title.

A mixture of gel medium and jade green paint was added around the edges of my layout and also lightly rubbed onto the chipboard embellishment to make the wording stand out.
I added stamped leaves and a few stamped and heat embossed leaves around my composition.

I hope that you like this layout.
Until next time!
